SIGNAL

On Metrics & Structure
We respond to metrics, not to visions. The grandeur of a vision does not replace the need for structure to make it actionable. Can we define a metric for how actionable a given structure actually is?
In that structure we can celebrate regularities — patterns created by disciplined work, and patterns deliberately built into the system itself. During the grind, we need targets that deliver the most relevant signal and place us on the path of least resistance toward the objective.
Ownership must be explicit at each phase and for the cycle itself, or the framework remains advisory rather than actionable.
Metrics are the signal we respond to. Everything else is confusion and ambiguity.
